History

The Contubernium in history was the smallest element of a Roman legion, composed of eight legionnaires; these legionnaires lived, trained, and worked together, sometimes for decades. They trusted one another, and each member was charged with guaranteeing the performance, honour, and integrity of the other members.

Adhering to this tradition, our Contubernium is limited to eight members - members who have studied and admitted one another to the group on the basis of intelligence, skills, talents, work ethic, dedication to excellence, breadth of personal contacts, and personal integrity; admission to our Contubernium was by unanimous vote. Like it's Roman namesake, our Contubernium guarantees the quality of its members, both within its core cadre of eight, and among its associates.

Contubernium are a company of good people dedicated to excellence and high quality results for our clients and associates. Our focus is international. We provide the finest, tailored solutions to a broad spectrum of corporate, government, and private challenges.

We market not only performance and expertise; we also market integrity. We will decline to engage a contract or a project if doubts exist regarding the overall integrity of the project itself, or our capacity to execute, to the highest standards, the terms of any potential agreement with a client.

Over the past three decades each member of Contubernium has observed or gained knowledge of business practices commonly exercised in other companies that were not in keeping with our individual and collective senses of quality and honesty. Disappointed with an all-to-often lack of integrity and quality control in the consultancy and service fields as a whole, we formed our own group as a reaction - as a correction - to these observed shortcomings.

Our core membership represents five culture sets. We consist of fluent speakers of English, Italian, Hindi and Arabic; and trusted associates add Greek, Spanish, Macedonian, Albanian, Russian, and Czech to our list of languages. Our core members are permanently based in the United States, the Czech Republic, and the Sultanate of Oman, with a broad and existing reach into Central and Eastern Europe, Western and Central Asia, the Balkans, the MIddle East, and India. Moreover, with three former diplomats as core members, we have well-practiced capacity to develop credible and productive contacts in most areas of the world.

The logo of Contubernium is conceptualised to communicate who and what we are, and what we represent: * The Letter "C" is the first letter in the company name * The colour blue draws upon the colour's ancient representation of the virtues of loyalty and honour; it signifies our commitment to confidentiality, both among our members and associates, and our clients. * The eight dashed lines in the north-east quadrant represent the eight trusted members of Contubernium. *The split or separated dagger, or "Pugio", pointing north and south represents the multi-directional and multi-focus nature of our company; the separated nature of the pugio signifies our commitment to all manner of projects and challenges, both civil and military. * The equatorial and tropic latitude lines within the logo signify the globe, representing our international reach.
